A year and a half ago, I lost my mom to breast cancer after a long seven-year battle. She wasn't just my mom — she was my best friend. Being her caretaker through every high and low was the hardest and most meaningful experience of my life. I would do it all again in a heartbeat.
After losing her, I knew my boys and I needed a fresh start. I used my inheritance to build something from the ground up — something I could truly be proud of. Today, I'm the proud owner of a licensed and insured roofing company: Snow & Sons Roofing.
This wasn't a random business idea. I've spent years in this industry as a FEMA home inspector, an independent insurance adjuster, and a storm restoration project manager — traveling the country after hurricanes and major storms. After my mom passed, I worked with a few roofing companies and quickly realized I couldn't stand behind the way many homeowners and subcontractors were being treated. There had to be a better way — built on honesty, transparency, communication, and integrity.
So I decided to build the kind of company I'd want my own family to hire.
Even our logo has meaning. The split "O" in Snow represents two C's — for me and Carla, my mom — and also for my son Caden. "Snow" is our family name, but also my son Rhett's middle name. Every detail was intentional. This company represents family, legacy, and doing things the right way.
This past year has been full of hard work, long nights, sacrifices, and prayers — and I'm incredibly proud of what we've built. Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, prayed, or believed in us along the way. It means more than you know.

In an industry full of shady deals, I work at building trust — one roof at a time. Cozad, Nebraska gave me a good work ethic. At twelve I was already earning — hardware store, farm hand, cleaning bakeries and bars. Met my high school sweetheart our junior year — she was the only woman I ever dated. Graduated in May 1974, we married that summer. Two kids, forty-three years of a great life together... eight years ago, cancer took her. My heart still aches every day.
Working in plastics taught me the job. Roofing taught me people — thirty-five years, every material, every weather. Now in Florida, I fly drones overhead and keep boots on the ground as general manager for my best friend's woman-owned company. We don't just sell roofs. We build relationships and trust — one roof at a time.
